Beeswax Wraps

How do Goodness Gracious beeswax food wraps work?
People are often delighted by how well our wraps work. For first use, simple crumple the wrap to activate the beeswax and stretch it back to its original size. Use the warmth of your hands to seal the wraps around half avocados, cheese, bowls and anything else you can think of.

What’s inside Goodness Gracious beeswax food wraps?
At Goodness Gracious we only source the highest quality ingredients. Our beeswax wraps are handmade with 100% cotton or 100% organic cotton fabric, infused with a blend of Australian beeswax, organic coconut oil, and natural tree resin.

How long do they last? Are they reusable?
All our wraps are reusable. With proper care our wraps will last you up to 12 months – that’s a whole year or more! We recommend re-waxing your wraps every 3-4months with our refresher bar available for purchase to keep the wrap looking pristine. Once they reach the end of their life, pop them in your home compost.

How do I store my beeswax food wraps?
We keep our beeswax food wraps in our kitchen drawer and also have some rolled in a jar for easy access in the kitchen. Keep away from all heat and direct sunlight.

Can I refresh my wraps when they get old?
Absolutely! You can refresh your wraps with our refresher bar available for purchase should you wish to re-wax your wraps. Simply grate or chop them into tiny pieces and sprinkle over your tired wrap. Sandwich the wrap in between two baking sheets and lightly iron them in low temperatures to soften the beeswax. Voila! Your beeswax food wraps will look good as new again.

Can I freeze my beeswax food wrap?
Yes! Goodness Gracious beeswax food wraps are perfect for freezing bread, pizza dough and baked goods.

Will my food taste like honey?
Our wraps don’t alter the taste of foods, however, when initially receiving the product you will be able to smell a very subtle beeswax aroma. Over time the smell of beeswax will diminish.

Can I use my beeswax food wrap with raw meat?
For hygienic reasons we don’t recommend using beeswax food wraps for raw meat or seafood as the wraps cannot be washed with hot water. However all our wraps contain beeswax which is naturally antibacterial, and coconut oil which is naturally antifungal.

Can I microwave food in beeswax wraps?
You cannot put the wraps in the microwave as the heat melts the wax solution and will change the consistency of the wrap

Are they suitable for tropical / warm climate?
Yes! Beeswax wraps are made from natural ingredients that respond to their environment. They will feel different depending on the temperature. If it is warmer they typically feel softer if colder they may feel harder and not as tacky. Beeswax wraps will soften and melt if temperatures get to 60 degrees.

We recommend storing them in cool place or even in the fridge on really hot days. The thing to be wary of is leaving the wrap  in the direct sunlight! This can cause it to melt and get sticky. Wait for your food to cool before using your beeswax wrap. Don't put in the oven, dishwasher or microwave. They will create a small mess!

How are beeswax wraps helping the environment?
Beeswax wrap are made from all-natural ingredients. They are free of toxin. All packaging is kept to a minimum to reduce waste and is compostable. All steps of the making process are completed in a way to reduce any unnecessary waste and following the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle. Goodness Gracious beeswax wraps can be put in compost when their use is finished.
